The concept of Villa Sand is based on the modern interpretation of the traditional Mediterranean residence. The architecture is integrated into the landscape through stone, curved openings and natural materials. The alternation of indoor and outdoor spaces creates a continuous flow of life inside and outside the building, with a focus on the pool and outdoor living space.
Building Description & Architectural Features
The house is developed with clean geometries and intense materiality, where natural masonry dominates both on the exterior and the interior. The stone walls, combined with white coated surfaces, create a balance between gravity and brightness. The curved openings and arches refer to the local architectural tradition, adding character and timelessness. The colour palette ranges from sandy, beige and warm earthy tones, with subtle wooden details in ceilings, frames and furniture. Textures remain natural and untreated, enhancing the sense of authenticity and calm. Furnishings are simple and functional, with organic forms and natural materials to complement rather than compete with the architecture. The pool acts as a central element of the composition, visually and functionally connecting the exterior spaces with the interior. The pergolas, shaded living spaces and large openings enhance the experiential quality of the residence, making Villa Sand a complete example of contemporary tourist architecture with a strong Mediterranean identity.
