Strategic Updates for the "My Home 2" Programme
New facilities for thousands of young people and families are brought by the "My House 2" housing programme, at a time when the housing market remains expensive and rents remain high. The government has announced an extension of the application period and a revision of the property criteria, with the aim of allowing more households to join.
Extension of deadlines and changes to the criteria
The application deadline is extended to May 31, 2026, correspondingly moving the disbursement date of the loans to August 31, 2026.
Financial data and progress of the Programme
To date, approximately 65% of the available funding has been committed, with more than 11,000 beneficiaries having already purchased a home.
The program, funded by the Recovery Fund, is for properties built up to 2007, with an emphasis on the development of vacant homes.

The changes to the criteria significantly expand the number of beneficiaries:

By way of example, a family of four with two children now raises the total income limit from €36,000 to €45,000.
Support for Young People and Families
The Minister for Family and Social Cohesion, Domna Michailidou, stressed that access to affordable housing is a "national issue", stating that:
